Church service interrupted by motor vehicle accident

There is a risk of getting into an accident whenever someone ventures out onto Kentucky roads. A motor vehicle accident is not only dangerous to the occupants of vehicles involved in one; it can also cause injury to people that are not in a vehicle at all. Recently, a terrible accident caused serious injury to people attending a church service, who likely never expected that they would be harmed.

This past Sunday, the 6 p.m. service was just underway at one of the oldest churches in Kentucky. As the faithful assembled inside, they had no idea that disaster was about to strike. Police say a man was driving at speeds more than double the posted limit and began to lose control of his vehicle.

The driver attempted to correct, but maneuvered in a way that sent the speeding vehicle directly into the historic church. The entire car wound up inside the church, and two members of the congregation were seriously injured. Police are continuing to investigate the accident. There is no update on the condition of the injured parishioners.

When a motor vehicle accident causes injuries to pedestrians, victims and their families may feel overwhelmed. When people have been hurt through no fault of their own, they may not know what to do next. They may be unable to work, or have medical bills that they cannot afford to pay as the result of their injuries. In many cases, it can be helpful for victims to seek the assistance of an experienced personal injury attorney. An attorney may be able to help victims seek restitution for medical bills and other damages.
