Motor vehicle accidents raise towing concerns

Kentucky is a beautiful state and, even in the modern era, has been a haven for many who cling to rural living. Sprawling farms and ranches dot the countryside. This sort of life is now assisted by modern technology, and people are able to have the best of both worlds. Unfortunately, motor vehicle accidents are still a major problem, and despite advances in transportation safety, lives are still lost on a regular basis.

Recently, a vehicle towing a utility trailer -- a common way to haul large loads -- was traveling down a Kentucky road. The trailer detached from the tow vehicle and careened into oncoming traffic. The trailer hit a passenger car, which, in turn, due to impact, hit a minivan.

The passenger vehicle struck by the trailer was carrying three minor children. They suffered serious injuries and had to be flown by helicopter to a hospital in an attempt to save their lives. One child, a 5-year-old boy, has since died. The others remain in critical condition. Adult passengers from at least three other vehicles suffered injury, and the investigation is ongoing.

When motor vehicle accidents leave innocent people seriously injured, victims may feel overwhelmed. Especially in cases where a child has become a victim, the days and weeks following an accident can leave victims and their families to deal with medical bills, insurance matters and, sadly, in some cases, funeral expenses. Many people choose to seek help in the form of an experienced attorney. An attorney may be able to help a family deal with such matters in a court of law and assist them as they choose to seek justice against the driver who caused the suffering.
