Holidays bring increase in motor vehicle accidents
On behalf of Wilt & Klausing, PLLC posted in motor vehicle accidents on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.
Kentucky drivers should expect an increase in traffic as the holiday season approaches. Each year, many thousands of people across the nation travel to visit friends and family. Combined with daily local traffic, motor vehicle accidents occur with greater frequency.
Recently, the driver of a pickup truck lost control of his vehicle. Though the initial cause of the crash is still under investigation, law enforcement has determined that the driver left the lane of travel and wound up in oncoming traffic. He struck another vehicle as a result.
The vehicle he struck was driven by a man from another state. Rescuers attempted to save the victim, but he died at the accident site. The driver that caused the crash was also seriously injured, and later died from his injuries. It was noted that he was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. The roadway was closed for several hours as investigators tried to determine exactly what happened to cause the tragic crash.
When motor vehicle accidents cause injury or death to Kentucky residents, victims and the surviving families of deceased victims may not know where to turn for help. An experienced attorney can often lend a hand when it comes to dealing with medical bills, funeral expenses, insurance matters and/or legal action against the party or parties deemed at fault. A personal injury attorney is often able to help victims as they fight for justice and attempt to collect any monetary damages to which they may be entitled.
